Outdoor Activities

With so many outdoor activities available, Chatham County encourages us to get out, get adventurous, and explore the surrounding area. From hiking to biking, picnics to paddles, splashing to soaring, there is truly something for everyone on all comfort levels. Adventures don’t always require big ticket experiences, especially when you are fortunate enough to live in an area with so many opportunities. The hardest part may be deciding which option to try first!

Bynum Front Porch

Bynum is a retired cotton mill village along the banks of the Haw River. The Bynum Music Series began in 2001 to help sustain the Bynum General Store. When the Store's operator wanted to retire in 2006, Bynum neighbors banded together and created a non-profit organization called Bynum Front Porch. Their mission is to create family-friendly events and programs to celebrate the community’s rich history and bright future. The store was a historical landmark and is still the social center of the community.
